Itinerary Details
Day 1 Arrival and Transfer to Darjeeling

On your arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (70.3 km) / Bagdogra Airport (65.3 km) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (61.9 km), meet our representative from IHPL who assists you with other formalities. After that, you take a transfer to Darjeeling.

Darjeeling, perched at an elevation of 2050m, is a wonderful hill town in West Bengal, which is renowned the world over for its sprawling tea plantations. Its towering attraction is the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or the Toy Train, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This charming town also offers fabulous views of the colossal Himalayas. The amicable weather, combined with the serenity of the place, promises to deliver a mesmeric experience to the visitor.

Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Then, head out to visit the Mall, a place for lounging, spending some quality time and shopping. Come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Local Sightseeing in Darjeeling

Wake up early and drive your way to the famous Tiger Hill (11km), and witness the most magnificent sunrise of your life. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga. Then, head back to Darjeeling, while visiting other attractions like Ghoom Monastery, War Memorial and Batasia Loop on the way.

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, get ready for your next round of sightseeing. Visit the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park and Peace Pagoda, a symbol of peace and spirituality. While here, also visit the Buddhist temple and monastery nearby. Then, make your way to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), a place dedicated to the spirit of mountaineering. Enjoy the cable ride which takes you to Rangit Valley from Darjeeling.

Of course, one cannot be in Darjeeling and not visit the lovely tea plantations. Along with that, visit other attractions like Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday) and Natural History Museum (Sunday Closed). Return to the hotel and take a leisurely stroll around the mall in the evening. Enjoy your stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Transfer to Gangtok followed by half-day sight seeing

After enjoying a healthy breakfast, transfer to Gangtok, located about 96km from Darjeeling. Seated at an altitude of 1600m, this place endears itself to tourists due to its raw untouched beauty. Indeed, from its magical lakes, enchanting monasteries and beautiful gardens, there is something worth checking out here for every visitor. The entire experience is enhanced further by the amicable weather which prevails the year round.

Upon reaching, check-in to the hotel and head out for some lovely sightseeing. Behold the beauty of the Chorten Stupa, the most important stupa in Sikkim. Then, visit Enchey Monastery, seated on a scenic hill above Gangtok. Believed to belong to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism, the monastery showcases images of the deities Buddha, Loki Sharia and Guru Padmasambhava. Other major attractions are Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, White Hall and Flower Show. Return back to the hotel, and enjoy the entire evening at your own leisure. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

After your breakfast, head out for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (38.5km) and Baba Mandir (54.6km). Tsomgo Lake, located at an elevation of 3,780m, is a picture of solitude and perfect tranquility, and one of Gangtok's prime attractions. Considered holy by the Sikkimese people, it's a haven for bird watchers as a number of Brahmini ducks and migratory birds visit the lake.

Baba Mandir, located approximately 16km from Tsomgo Lake, is a famous pilgrim center, besides being known to possess wish fulfilling powers. This shrine commemorates the brave spirit of Baba Harbhajan Singh, an Indian Army soldier who attained martyrdom near Nathu La Pass. One also has the option of visiting Nathu La Pass, located about 20km from the shrine. Return to Gangtok after this visit. Go for a relaxed walk around the Mall Road or any of the local shopping centers in close proximity. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 Departure – Gangtok to Siliguri/New Jalpaiguri

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, leave for Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (119 km) / Bagdogra Airport (126 km) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (113 km). Upon reaching there, proceed forward with your onward journey.
